I Hate Systemschapter 521: annoyance and fear

"Evade it!" Lota screamed as she transformed into a fist sized wasp, bursting with enough power to travel a hundred metres in an instant.

After stopping, she poised her stinger towards her original location, emitting a powerful beam that slammed into the ground, raising a lot of dust.

"Dammit!" She focused for a moment before noticing a tiny figure slither on the ground before transforming into an insect to take off to the skies. The insect was of course the Spydragon.

Lota had been keeping an eye on the System Hosts all along. She had missed Dwun, but after that, she kept watch on the rest, noticing a tiny Spydragon appear next to Yaarliwar before he vanished.

So after that, she was always guarded against the insects.

Upon her shout, Bernata turned into a vat and flew away. Even though she was vastly slow as compared to Lota, a sphere of water constantly surrounded her, protecting her from most attacks.

Kieee!

Followed by a resounding screech, a firebird slammed into the sphere of water, evaporating most of the water. Bernata grunted in response, recovering the sphere of water before slamming countless attacks onto Balmer.

Bernata was Host to the Bullshit Luck System, possessing the Heaven Martial Spirit of Salt Water and a fusion material attribute that allowed her to store a massive reservoir of water within her body.

Bullshit Luck didn't conform to any logic even within Luck based Systems, a tricky power to deal with. This was why despite being cornered countless times, Bernata was never injured.

Moreover, from time to time, stray attacks would fly away from random directions to slam into Balmer, distracting him every time he tried to kill her.

Moreover, whenever he tried to evade an attack, the ground would crack as a geyser would slam into him, rapidly weakening the flames forming his body, slowing down his movements as he became helpless against Bernata's water attributed Origin Essence.

But normally, she and Lota would have joined hands to press forth on their attacks to eventually kill Balmer. At first, there was Gallo's intervention. And now, there was the Spydragon, many of them in fact.

And it was hard to destroy them.

It seemed each Spydragon was equipped with a Reality Marble, intending to trap the System Hosts there. After all, that was the easiest way to deal with them.

Yaarliwar was Host to the Emotional Impact System, having abilities to affect the minds of others either through sound or telepathy.

And what did Compass Carburettor do in that case? He trapped Yaarliwar in a void, negating his voice. Moreover, he and Rhizen were protected by the Mental Energy Body Layer, preventing him from using telepathy to affect their emotions.

Basically, both his means of attacks were blocked by the terrain itself, making him helpless. Moreover, the Reality Marble was fully under Compass Carburettor's control, capable of altering the terrain instantly as the situation deemed.

So, even if Yaarliwar's System consumed its luck to alter cause and effect, Compass Carburettor instantly rendered it useless by destroying the Reality Marble and erecting a new one.

So, all the changes that were done by the System to the old Reality Marble were rendered useless. In this simple but efficient process, he could easily deal with System Hosts the moment they were trapped in his Reality Marble.

And every time a System Host was trapped there, death was their only result. And hence, Lota and Bernata were nervous about coming anywhere near the Spydragons.

Lota had targeted them multiple times, but they were tougher than she had expected. Only if she focused all her strength onto it was she able to destroy a Spydragon. But as she was fighting Balmer, this only presented him a great opportunity to target her.

Boom!

A massive sphere of flames akin to a sun abruptly manifested before the fleeing Bernata before exploding, vaporising all the water surrounding her, even beginning to wound her.

Grunting in response, Bernata brought out a lot of water from her reservoir, barely defending herself.

"Bernata! Behind you!" Lota shouted in alarm.

In response, Bernata hurriedly looked behind her, noticing misty ripples forming as a result of water coming into contact with fire. And, floating amidst the chaos was a Spydragon, tiny in size, but looking terrifying when zoomed in, just like how every other damn insect looked.

Time seemed to have slowed down as the vase—that Bernata had transformed into—gazed at the Spydragon, at the entity that didn't seem alive but had troubled them massively over the past three months.

Slowly, the Spydragon opened its mouth as Bernata felt her head spin for a moment.

She hurriedly oriented herself, noticing that her surroundings had changed. It was a vast world with clear skies and a humid weather.

There was no soil as the surface was covered by a hard bedrock. The bedrock was porous in nature as the moment Bernata landed on the ground, all the water surrounding her was absorbed into the ground, causing a layer of salt to form a coating over the surface.

Bernata frowned as the vat wriggled, causing the salt on the surface to shoot up like pillars that transformed into spears, aiming at the jet-black entity that was seated a hundred metres away, "Compass Carburettor!"

"Welcome, Bernata." Compass Carburettor smiled in response, snapping his finger as a bolt of lightning landed on the vat, causing her to scream in pain.

Though, this didn't actually injure her much, the level of damage contained well below her tolerance. And hence, her luck didn't activate to protect her.

Though, just this one action allowed her to glean a lot of info as her face paled, shouting aloud, "You don't have such an ability. You're definitely being helped by someone."

Even she shuddered at the thought before shouting aloud, "Why are you doing this, Rhizen? Come out! I know you're here!"

"You're…pretty smart, Bernata." Rhizen smiled, revealing himself from behind the pillar at the top of which Compass Carburettor was seated.

Rhizen slowly closed in on her, seeing her shudder in response. Or rather, the cause was the Bullshit Luck System within her that used all its strength to peer through the veil on Rhizen, gazing at the sheer Luck that he had amassed.

"W-What are you planning?" Bernata stammered, for a moment forgetting that she was Host to a Level 78 Luck-based System.
