Chapter 433: System Vs Protag (part 5)

Boom!

Xuer chased after the two System Hosts, blasting everything along her way, pressing them further and further.

The System Hosts, in return, solely focused on defence, running away as they had been injured severely.

Bunuela too attacked, targeting them right after Xuer’s attack ended. This way, both of them didn’t end up negating each other’s attacks.

“Dammit!” Ranze grunted in anger, gazing at the two individuals that had arrived before him. It was Warktor and Chenger.

Currently on the ground between the two were a bunch of corpses. All of them were Sleeper Cells that Compass Carburettor had created among Chenger’s organisation.

Surprisingly, when Ranze attacked their enemies, the Sleeper Cells came under his attack, dying in the process.

As they were the first generation of Sleeper Cells, unlike the ones he created in the Folkan Secret Realm, their bodies weren’t boosted by the Blood Vitality Grass. And hence, they fell under his hits easily.

This was the effect of both Chenger’s and Warktor’s Luck combining to result in this. Moreover, as Compass Carburettor’s innate Luck had taken severe damage recently, the Sleeper Cells didn’t survive.

Moreover, the same was also true for the region. All the Sleeper Cells that had taken part in suppressing Velcorn had been killed by Holla’s attacks.

Grisha and Ranze teamed up to fight against their two opponents.

Grisha and Chenger both had their respective organisations. And the people from both sides were currently locked in battle.

“Hey, I still need to enter the Imperial Treasury to find a weapon for my disciple.” Warktor gazed at Chenger, “So, I don’t want to fight against Compass Carburettor’s companions at the moment. Doing so would only cause my Luck to crumble.”

“Holla and Velcorn might die if this continues.” Chenger muttered, “You’ve already seen how low Velcorn’s luck has gotten. Holla isn’t far off either. We need to buy them time until their Luck recovers.”

“That’s their fault for being useless.” Warktor snorted, “So, why should I care?”

He then waved his hand, “I only came here to stop these two for a minute. That should be enough for Holla to escape far enough and save Velcorn if she wants to.”

He then gazed at Grisha, “Grisha…it’s nice to see you again. How many years was it? 250 something? It has been long since I last saw you. How are you doing these days?”

“Why are you here, sir?” Grisha frowned, surprisingly treating him with respect, “With your nature, you’ll never side with them.”

“I was brought here forcefully though.” Warktor smiled helplessly, “I can ignore all these Luck based Systems, but Coincidental Luck? I cannot ignore its words.”

“It owns our world you see.” He sighed, “And, Coincidental Luck wants us to kill Compass Carburettor. There’s no other choice I have here.”

“It cannot do anything to you. We’ll just be reborn in another twenty years…” Grisha retorted, feeling nervous for some reason.

“That’s where you’re wrong, Grisha.” Warktor sighed, “There’s a way to kill us. All they have to do is turn us into System Slayers. And once they kill us after that, we’ll never revive even after our world resets.”

“And, I have a family. You should know clearly from the previous loops about how much I value my family, right?” He spoke, seeing Grisha nod in all seriousness, sighing as he gazed at the sky, “In every loop, no matter how worse the situation had gotten, not once did I ever betray my family. Their deaths came only after mine.”

“What is he…talking about?” Ranze faced Grisha, shocked when he noticed the emotions of the ever-calm and collected woman trembling in response. ‘Who the heck is this man to affect her this much in a matter of words?’

“And, the Coincidental Luck System has held their lives hostage.” Warktor said, his voice sad, “Even though I’m angry at it, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

“But, if Straxia is killed, the Coincidental Luck System would die!” Grisha shouted.

“That’s true. But,” He shook his head, “Compass Carburettor must have told you about the true nature of Systems, right?”

He sighed, “They’ve already made preparations. All of them. Within a few decades, they would revive through the minds of the people they live within. Even though they would be weakened significantly, they wouldn’t die.”

“And…” He said helplessly, “The Coincidental Luck System would still be our world’s owner. Even if it isn’t this loop, it can kill my family permanently in a future loop. You see, no matter when, I don’t wish my family to die, since I’ll still be alive through those loops.”

“It’s selfish, but I hope you understand. This is why I’ll have no other choice but to kill Compass Carburettor. You can hate me for that, Grisha. But I don’t care.” Warktor said, waving his hands as he walked away, “Let’s not fight at present. As long as you don’t go against Holla and Velcorn, I won’t fight you. Xuer would soon meet up with Compass Carburettor. I won’t interfere if they fight with Holla and Velcorn.”

“What do you hope to gain from that?” Grisha frowned, “Sir, your actions make no sense. You can just try to fight us right now, you know.”

“My goal is to kill Compass Carburettor even if it means that I would die. But, I don’t have confidence in doing that now.” Warktor said truthfully, “I’ll face him once the both of us are at the Martial Origin Stage. Until then, I’ll only act to ensure you don’t gang up on the System Hosts.”

“As expected of the Main Character. Even the Luck of his companions is on par with us.” He sighed, vanishing soon after, “I’ll be leaving the Imperial Treasury the moment I obtain a weapon for my disciple. I won’t interfere as long as the two of you remain here.”

He then gazed at Chenger, saying, “Of course, if Chenger moves to kill Compass Carburettor, you’re free to do as you wish.”

“After all, she’s Rhizen’s sole wife in all loops. She’s inferior only to Straxia.”
