I Hate Systemschapter 411: you’re destined to die by her hands

Skills!

What were they exactly? And in what form or substance do they exist as?

As Compass Carburettor began to think in such a line of thought, he noticed that the number of orbs being pulled towards the Essence Beast had reduced. This was despite there being the same number of orbs nearby as compared.

It wasn't a gradual decrease that might have resulted from the Essence Beast hitting its limit. No, this happened right after he made contact with Chenger's mind. Once he thought about that, a certain statement resounded in him.

A part of his Luck had been stolen by the Destiny Luck System.

He was unable to understand how this was possible. As what he didn't know was the fact that the Destiny Luck System had already devoured the Protagonist Luck System. Meaning, it was his natural counter.

That was why he suffered tangible damage from that exchange just now.

Luck was an intangible concept but its effects were tangible indeed. After all, Compass Carburettor could easily conclude based on his experiences in the Gaider Realm, especially when he had been conscious about the effects of Luck ever since he arrived at the Apocalypse World.

He was pretty lucky in the Gaider Realm.

And that was what he had been observing in the tower all along too. His Luck was still as effective as before. And now, he noticed a sharp difference, frowning as he looked at Chenger.

The crowd that he had instigated against her had already been deal with by her as some of her men arrived to her rescue. And, all this attack did was give her a few scratches. But in return, she obtained a lot of loot from her attackers, not to mention allowing some of her men to find her.

His actions only strengthened her.

His intention had only been to probe her anyway, so he wasn't disappointed with the result. 'I had expected something like this. The Destiny Luck System is at Level 92. There's no way I can win in a head-on confrontation.'

"Besides, that was definitely a Skill." He muttered, for when he entered Chenger's mind, the Destiny Luck System had activated a Skill to steal a part of his Luck.

Systems were beings of the mind. So, that meant their abilities too were the same. 'But, the Destiny Luck System is using a certain method to still use its Skills even in this situation. That means…'

He smiled, 'I should be able to reclaim and use my abilities too.'

"I'll find the means to do so." He observed through the Essence Beast, noticing that more than two hundred orbs were revolving around it now. And that wasn't all, the essence regarding the Attribute Strengthening Spark continued to gush into him, strengthening him constantly.

His attributes of mind and frog were growing stronger and stronger.

"Wait, some of the cultivators had been saying that there is a way in the Essence Derby Palace to gain an attribute. But how?" There wasn't anything like that around him now as he frowned.

After absorbing enough orbs, Compass Carburettor was able to notice the differences in the way the various Sparks behaved. Appearance wise, all of them looked the same, but there were mild size differences.

And, their movement patterns were different too. Also, when coming into contact, they had varying toughness, with the Essence Increasing Spark being the easiest to crack.

"Let's continue to accumulate more Sparks first." He muttered, thinking, 'Once the Essence Beast hits its limit, I can try something.'

He made a waving action, watching the Claw Wolf tail after him on the ground. It expertly jumped around from one place to another, avoiding the stray attacks from cultivators that came its way.

Tssch!

Suddenly, he noticed that the tower's shield around him had thinned rapidly, thinking for a moment as he planted a lot of his memories into the Essence Beast's mind.

From the three memories, he raised the amount to more than a thousand, noticing a visible difference as he was able to subtly affect the Essence Beast's actions. His Sleeper Cell seed also began to show signs of sprouting.

But, there was still a long way to go for that as he continued to send in a lot of his memories into it.

The think with the Origin Art of Mind Transfer was that if he sent his memories to someone, he would indeed lose them. Meaning, if he sent the memories related to him for a day, he would no longer remember anything that had happened on that day, like a memory loss.

So, this was a technique he should be careful with. But, Compass Carburettor had a rough childhood, possessing memories that he felt he would rather be better off without, sending them into the Essence Beast's mind.

Time passed in such a fashion as eventually, he reached a point where the quantity of memories he had planted in the Essence Beast's mind equalled to a year of his life. There wasn't any danger as if he wanted, he could use Mind Transfer to reclaim all the memories.

Also, he came to notice that a sense of connection had been established between the two as slowly, Compass Carburettor began to feel as if the Essence Beast was just an extension of his body.

Moreover, the number of orbs revolving around it slowly reached three hundred in number when suddenly, the Essence Beast jerked violently, like it had attained its limit.

Immediately after, it opened its mouth, swallowing all the orbs revolving around it as they cracked, spilling out all the essence contained within them.

"Gah!" Compass Carburettor grunted, feeling his Mind Frog getting overwhelmed as the rate of development exceeded its limit for the Origin Refinement stage.

Moreover, the quantity of Origin Essence in his body began to exceed what he could contain, making it apparent that his body was about to explode, "Shit!"

"You're destined to be killed by Chenger, Compass Carburettor." He recalled the Destiny Luck System's confident words, scowling in response.
