Chapter 309: Compass Vs Krager (part 1)
"What the heck just happened?" Krager hadn't even managed to make sense of his Quest rewards when he noticed his surroundings changing abruptly.
He came to an abrupt halt, noticing that he had appeared in a vast world that was fully walled on all sides by a thick layer of bedrock.
There wasn't anything unique about the terrain other than the fact that the gravity was higher than usual, making it difficult for it to fly normally.
Abruptly arriving before the wall, he changed forms, turning into a four-horned mongoose, intending to take advantage of the mongoose's speed.
Even from far away, Compass Carburettor was able to take action. This was the only aspect that he hadn't revealed about his abilities yet. All the time, he had only actuated them from up close.
But now, he took action from afar, shattering the Reality Marble he was hiding within as he instantly condensed another.
'Thank you for your service. Now, land the aircraft carefully on my island.' Saying so, Compass Carburettor sent them into his Dimensional Space as he unfurled his pair of wings, remaining afloat as he slowly condensed a large aircraft out of Darlac.
Even though the Elf didn't exist in the world, that didn't mean he could act cocky. He was only able to go against a Hatchling System one-on-one. If two or more of them came at him, he would be fucked. This was especially true since he had already revealed all his cards.
He slowly focused, thinking of the scene that he needed for the eventual battle as he took a dozen seconds to think up before activating it, pouring out a stream of Mental Energy.
The first Reality Marble that he had unleashed was only to trap Krager within and buy him some time to get close. And, activating it from so far away consumed a lot more Mental Energy than usual, so he had to make it as simple as possible.
And, he could already feel that Krager had begun to bombard the place, beginning to destroy it. Had he been like the Elf, he would have already destroyed the Reality Marble, since he was way stronger than the Karger at the start of the apocalypse.
But, he was curious about the changed surroundings first, acting cautious. Only after receiving a prompt from his System did he take action and begin damaging the Reality Marble.
But by this time, Compass Carburettor had completed his preparations, destroying the old Reality Marble as he condensed a new one, with this one encompassing the space within the energy blade aircraft.
The aircraft began to fly away as Compass Carburettor sighed, taking a couple of seconds to observe Krager's actions first, "He's become strong!"
But, he didn't immediately enter the Reality Marble, taking his time with the preparations, already understanding that this would be a long battle, with his enemy already prepared against his abilities.
He first activated his Body Layer using Darlac, condensing a thin but tremendously tough layer of energy blade that served as his line of defence. This perfectly also enveloped the pair of wings that grew on his back, the helmet on his head, etc.
The abilities of all four mutated beasts had already been condensed into their respective items and donned by him. Body Layer covered them all, protecting them. Over that, he condensed Body Layer using Mental Energy, causing the jet-black cloak of the night to envelop him as stars shone all over it, glittering with a mysterious vibe.
He had already condensed them in the strongest versions that he could maintain, done with his defensive preparations. He then unleashed his Dust Wave, condensing them into a tiny energy blade sphere as he condensed them into it to the extent the sphere felt heavy.
He made ten such spheres and hung them over his hip, done with all preparations as he entered the Reality Marble, noticing Karger sense his approach immediately.
"Compass Carburettor…" Turning into his human form, Krager glared at Compass Carburettor, "To think you were the mastermind all along. You killed Neena before, and now you're aiming for my life? Why?"
"I'm aiming for that entity in your body." Compass Carburettor said, "If you hand it over to me, I'll consider sparing your life."
"Consider?" Krager snorted, "You've become pretty arrogant, huh."
"But, it doesn't matter. No matter how you've changed, you'll die when you are killed." Krager stared at the jet-black entity hovering in the sky, "And that, I'll make sure."
The moment he said so, his figure vanished from the spot, appearing behind Compass Carburettor as he punched forth, unleashing a massive explosion that sent him crashing into the ground from the impact.
The tearing currently consisted of a massive mountain, a sea surrounding it, and a layer of bedrock on all sides, as if they were trapped within a mountain range. The height of the mountain range seemed to span a couple of kilometres at least, causing escape to not be easy.
After all, in the sky were thunder clouds, covering the entire sky, making the place dark, with the only source of light being the occasional flickering.
"Gah!" Krager grunted as a bolt of lightning slammed into him, sending him reeling into the mountain, "That freaking hurts!"
Though, he climbed out a second later, pristine, having already healed the minor injury that he had sustained.
Cracking his neck, he slowly walked out before turning into a mongoose as his figure dashed towards Compass Carburettor. Even though it wasn't using any abilities, its straight-up dash itself was alarmingly quick, covering the massive distance in a matter of seconds as it pounced upon the figure of Compass Carburettor that had just emerged out of the water.
He was still reeling from the explosive punch as Compass Carburettor noticed the mongoose opening its mouth, intending to bite his head off, for its size allowed it to swallow him whole. It resembled a van, but despite its size, its speed had only become quicker.
A hail of feathers slammed into it, sending it flying away as its injuries rapidly healed. Before the rest of the feathers could slam into it, its figure vanished as all Compass Carburettor was able to see was the rippling on the water surface, a delayed reaction from the mongoose's steps on the water surface. It had begun to use its ability.
It was so fast that it was using the surface tension of the water to run around like it did on land, pouncing upon him again.
