Chapter 79

Kim Sia and Kim Si-woo.

I was skeptical when I heard their names, but when I saw these two children added to the Character Book, I was convinced.

Anti-heroes. ‘VenDetta Duo’

Anti-heroes who ruthlessly prosecute and punish public officials who cause corruption or incidents.

The woman, called Ven, was a spatial wizard and the man, called Detta, was a physical power awakener.

Their real names, as revealed in the original story, were Kim Sia and Kim Si-woo, and they were called “Duo” because they were twins.

How they came to be anti-heroes is never explained, so I assumed it was just a concept… but I was wrong…….

“They’re my siblings, but they’re so weird.”

I didn’t realize they were Se-ah siblings.

At the same time, everything started to come together in my head.

What if I hadn’t been possessed by this body and gotten to know Se-ah? What if she hadn’t joined our club?

As a result, the villains would have traveled to Bucheon through the ‘New Chulguimol’ and Se-ah would have been caught in a trap and arrested by the police without any chance of escape. The fabricated data and evidence would have convicted her to Niflheim.

And the children?

They were bound to have a grudge against the organization that did this to their sister and they would have taken it upon themselves to get revenge.

That’s how the anti-heroes, the Vendetta Duo, were born.

That would explain why I didn’t remember Se-ah when I played the Academy route.

She disappeared in the middle of the game after all.

“Oops, did I talk too much, I’m sorry.”

Seeing me dazed, Se-ah suddenly apologized.

“No, I was just trying to organize my thoughts when I suddenly remembered something.”

“Something came to mind?”

“Have you thought about enrolling Sia and Si-woo in the academy?”

“It’s……”

But now that the game world had become real and if I could protect Se-ah, their future could be different.

“Sia and Si-woo……?”

“I heard that the academy now has a kindergarten and primary school. I’m sure your younger siblings would be able to get in.”

“But my siblings aren’t Awakened……?”

According to the information in the game, they were awakened by “some event”.

And by “some event,” they obviously meant Se-ah being captured.

Obviously, the “event” itself was interrupted by me, but the two children who witnessed the detectives being taken away in front of them would soon awaken.

‘Cause I think that shell has already cracked.’

[Name: Kim Si-woo]

[Affiliation: South Korea]

[Description: Kim Se-ah’s younger brother. He is preparing to awaken, stimulated by recent events]

[Name: Kim Sia]

[Affiliation: South Korea]

[Description: Kim Se-ah’s sister, who is preparing to awaken after being stimulated by recent events]

I can’t believe they’re already in the character book.

Apparently, the recent events have been a great stimulus for both of them, paving the way for their awakening.

“Of course, it’s a question that assumes they’re awakened, so feel free to answer.”

“Oh, is that what you mean? If that’s what you mean, then……I’d like to see the children educated in a better environment. We’ll have the same dismissal time, and we can go to school together. But…… if there’s a problem with that…….”

Se-ah hesitated for a moment before speaking.

“Is it because of the school fees?”

“……Yes. Thanks to my parents, I have my tuition paid for, but according to the association’s policy, only one child per family can have their tuition paid for, so maybe if they want to go to the academy…….”

Se-ah smiles bitterly as she says that.

She didn’t say it out loud, but it was obvious what followed.

She’s probably thinking about quitting school and earning money for her siblings’ tuition.

For a moment, I thought of my past self.

‘…… University? I don’t even get to go there, but you want me to pay for you?’

‘You have no conscience.’

‘You’re on your own.’

‘A failure.’

……Wow, that’s so different from someone else.

“There are so many foundations in Korea, surely your siblings can get a scholarship.”

“……Is that true?”

“Of course.”

Because if they don’t, I’ll make them.

Sia and Si-woo have certainly proven themselves in the game.

There’s also the Corleone Scholarship Foundation, so it shouldn’t be too hard for them to get into the Academy.

Plus, the VenDetta duo has been talked about as future S-class antiheroes, so they’re practically a guaranteed success.

‘I’d be a fool not to buy this.’

And it’s not just Sia and Si-woo, there are many other children.

‘Should I keep a list of these kids?’

I thought to myself.

“If they can live like everyone else, I’m all for it.”

“Good, I’m sure they will.”

Se-ah responded positively, so I smiled and we talked about the kids.

I wonder how long we talked like that and I checked the time I realized it had been a while.

“It’s already been……hours, I’ve finished my tea, so let’s call it a day.”

“Oh, really, I guess I should go to bed too…… I’ve been through a lot today and I’m pretty tired…….”

Before standing up and heading out the door. I turned to Se-ah and said.

“I’ll continue to get reports from the law firm on this case, but…… if anything happens, contact me as soon as possible, just like today. Do you understand?”

“Yes……I will!”

I’m sure nothing bad will happen now.

“Have a safe trip Mr. Eugene.”

“Good night.”

I closed the door quietly so as not to wake the kids and slid into the car that was already waiting for me at the gate.

“You’ve done a good job, master.”

“Yeah……I’m going straight home.”

“Yes.”

Yeah, I wanted to go home and get some rest too.

First Gangwon Province, then Bucheon, and then Incheon, I’ve been traveling a lot.

Tomorrow is Sunday, so let’s get some……rest.

* * *

Things were going smoothly with Se-ah.

First of all, I secured testimonies and evidence from the two villains held by the organization to prove Se-ah’s innocence, and packaged them anonymously and submitted them to Dike.

Add to that my own testimony as one of the people who had captured Shin Chul-Gwimol, and the police and prosecutors were scrambling to put a stop to it.

Well, I wasn’t about to go down that easily, but…….As it turns out, it worked out very well.

“Seriously, that’s when Mr. Eugene burst through the door of the police station, and the lawyers were like, ‘Wow, if it wasn’t for you, I thought you’d go to jail and rot for the rest of your life. I mean, they’ve got evidence, they’ve got witnesses, how could they? I didn’t even do it!”

And now there’s Se-ah, who vents her frustrations upon arrival at the academy.

“Someone higher up must have pulled the strings. Did you tell Instructor Ji-hyun?”

After hearing Se-ah’s story, Young-jae shakes his head.

“I told her yesterday, but……she left in a hurry.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“……It’s funny.”

The members of the club shook their heads, knowing all too well that such a thing could be possible with Ji-hyun’s personality.

……Of course, I know the truth of what happened.

According to Han Kwang-ki, who was at the prosecutor’s office at the time, Ji-hyun was so impatient that she stormed into the station with a demand letter signed by the academy staff, the dean, and the association president.

She was probably very angry because it happened to a student and mentee in her class.

As is her nature…….

“The whole Special Ability Unit of the prosecutor’s office was there and they confronted each other at the entrance of the prosecutor’s office.

She showed them the true nature of a spatial mage who specializes in offense, not support.

Luckily, it didn’t end in bloodshed, but there was a lot of chaos as they turned the tables and found out who was involved.

Han Kwang-ki also said that it made the story go more smoothly, so Ji-hyun was definitely Ji-hyun.

“Jin-woo, don’t you find my story interesting?”

“It’s …..huh?”

“Wait. What’s wrong with your eyes?”

“…….Huh.”

“Young-jae, Eugene what’s wrong with Jin-woo’s eyes right now?”

Hearing Se-ah words, I turned my head to look at Jin-woo.

Instead of his usual energetic and uselessly sparkling eyes, Jin-woo’s eyes looked rotten.

Upon closer inspection, he’s even letting out an unpleasant chuckle,

“……What the hell did you do over the weekend?”

I ask cautiously and he slowly opens his mouth.

“…… Training.”

” Training?”

“……I hunted and slaughtered animals all day.”

“Ah.”

This was a training method I knew.

Killing Emotions was one of the Artemis Guild’s techniques, more precisely, it was a way to remove the hesitation at the tip of a knife, a way to see who he was and how strong he had become.

Well, it was bad enough when he took a knife to the thigh in his first mentor class, but seeing as how he’s already slaughtering animals, Jin-woo seems to be quite taken with it.

Well, that’s something the player can do later in the game.

The training he’s doing right now is something you can only access after you’ve raised Han Yue’s favorability rating quite a bit.

“President, what did you do? Isn’t that Kwak Chun-sik, one of Korea’s greatest heroes?”

Young-jae’s words suddenly turned the questioning arrow toward me.

At the same time, the children’s gazes flocked to me.

All I did this time was get a weird pink bracelet……while I was thinking, ‘How do I explain this?’

“Good morning. Did everyone have a good weekend?”

Ji-hyun walked in, kicking open the front door like a savior.

“Hmm, by the looks of your faces, I can tell the difference between those who played all weekend and those who practiced. Especially Jin-woo, I never thought I’d see that in you. I love those eyes.”

“……?”

“You should be more like that. Okay, let’s start with the announcements. Today’s first period is self-study due to the faculty meeting. And……Eugene Han.”

My name was called out of nowhere and I had an uneasy feeling.

“Yes.”

“After today’s first period of self-study, the student council is looking for new student council members, so please send the president and the vice president members of each grade to the student council room. You can go to the student council room after the end of first period.”

I hadn’t realized that this is how they built the power of the student council after it was established.

The good news was that there was usually no penalty for not going.

“Well, do I have to go?”

“Uh, they said it was mandatory this time.”

What? No?

…… Damn butterfly effect.

“Whoa.”

I ruffled my hair, realizing that I was on the wrong track.

“It’s the Student Council President’s opinion, so just show up. It won’t matter if you get into trouble or whatever.”

Is she really telling me to go kill myself now?

The title of Academy Student Council President is not something that comes easily.

It’s a position that only the best, strongest monsters in first, second, and third years can reach.

Check out my stats at this point…….

Even in this day and age, going up against the student council president was a pretty daunting task.

“……I won’t do that.”

“Oh, that’s too bad. I was hoping.”

What was she expecting?

Does she really expect me to go out and overthrow the academy?

Oh……this guy, didn’t you already do that last night?

I had forgotten that Ji-hyun was a human being who would have done the same thing.

“Anyway. I’ve given you all the messages, and I’ve checked your attendance, so you can go study when the bell rings, and the class president will remember whoever talks during study and report to me.”

“Okay.”

“Ha-ha, okay. Morning rounds are over. Good luck.”

Ji-hyun rushed out of the class.

I sighed at the storm that swept through the class and held my forehead.

“Eugene, if the president and the vice president are going together, doesn’t that mean she’s going too?”

“What?”

“You know, the one who keeps sending challenge letters to Eugene. The old sword master!”

“Oh.”

I forgot about that.
