In Jason's opinion, the others, who didn't bid for the Spiral Spirit Egg, were fools.
Thus, he couldn't prevent smiling proudly as he was suddenly eyed by a majority of the powerhouses at the same time.
Jason merely gazed at the stage, where the astonished auctioneer was standing, momentarily forgetting to do what she was supposed to.
His demeanor was nonchalant as if he didn't do anything special, only for the other powerhouses to question his reason for bidding.
However, even after wondering about it for some time, they couldn't help but think that Jason was just gambling, trying to grasp a huge opportunity, even if it was unlikely to happen.
Jason's bet caused a commotion in the rows of non-VIPs which made the auctioneer regain her composure as she announced,
"10 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion stage have been bid! Does someone want to bid 11 superior cultivation stones?"
While the auctioneer waited for a few seconds to receive another bid, many things happened at the same time.
First, Jason had to control his emotions, and appear unruffled, while he was eyed and even swept through by tens of energy currents, investigating his cultivation base.
'5th Lique stage… I doubt he procured it by himself. Did he receive some funds from the City lord's disciple? Are they close friends?' One of the Aeus family patriarchs living in Lanro thought, just realising that Jennifer, the City Lord's disciple was standing next to a man.
However, only a moment later, the Aeus sensed that he was unable to scan through Jason's body as more than six beings at the Specta stage were trying to evaluate Jason by themselves.
This was uncomfortable, but Jason simply endured it, knowing that he couldn't do anything against it, either way.

And how does he have such distinct mana fluctuations despite only being at the 5th Lique stage….interesting!' The old man, who was standing next to the human prodigy, though. The prodigy looked younger than Jason.
He immediately shared his findings with his disciple whose eyes twinkled with interest.
"Are you sure about the stigma? That means he has someone strong backing him up…otherwise, he wouldn't be able to possess an artificial stigma!"
The young woman stated her assumptions, without even considering that Jason might have naturally created the Stigma.
"Doesn't that mean, his backing is stronger than that provided by my father? It's impossible for me to deactivate the stigma he engraved into my back, after all!"
These words caused the old man to glare at the little girl as he admonished her,
"Quiet down, if you don't want to expose your secrets to others! And, don't bother about this young man. He is already older than you, and his cultivation base is leagues apart from yours!
From the looks of it, he is nothing special, just let him waste his fortune on the Spiral Spirit egg. We will procure an unscathed one!"
Nodding her head reluctantly, the young woman fell silent but her eyes were trained on Jason. She noticed that there was something odd in Jason's facial expression and her gut feeling told her to bid for the half mutated egg as well.
Unfortunately, she was forbidden to 'waste' any precious resources, thus she remained silent as she heard the final words of the female auctioneer.
"Sold!"
How could the young woman understand that she not only felt uncomfortable about Jason's stigma, but also the fact that he nonchalantly used his entire fortune on an egg that was deemed useless?
window.pubfuturetag = window.pubfuturetag || [];window.pubfuturetag.push({unit: "64cc9e79c7059f003e4ad4b0", id: "pf-5109-1"})In fact, the young, seemingly calm Aeus felt like he should have bid for the Spiral Spirit egg too, only to be forbidden to do anything, just like the young woman.
Little did Jason know that he had only been a hair's breadth away from losing the Spiral Spirit egg, forever.
Fortunately, this didn't happen, and he had successfully procured the egg.
After he heard the auctioneer's words, Jason couldn't help but smile brightly, happy that nobody else bid for the Spiral Spirit egg.
The sudden change in Jason's demeanor astonished everyone, and they couldn't help but label him a freak, or eye him with more interest.
They were curious to know the reason behind him being so glad about having purchased the half-mutated egg.
'Did I make a mistake?…No, I shouldn't!! He couldn't have sensed something we haven't, right?!' The old woman suddenly asked herself, only to shake her head, rejecting this possibility, before throwing a faint glimpse towards her disciple, the young Aeus, who looked at her as if he wanted to say.
'I told you!'
Seeing how happy Jason was with his purchase, Jennifer couldn't help but look at him with a mixture of confusion and interest.
She wanted to know why he had purchased the Spiral Spirit egg too, and if Jason had been able to see something owing to his eyes' trait.
Despite that, she would have to wait for some time because the 13 Grand Spirit Eggs were now about to be auctioned off.
Jason had to wait until the entire event ended before he would receive his purchase which was different from the Frozen Lunarium Jennifer had bought before the auction had started.

Comparing what the others would bid for the Grand Spirit Eggs to what he had paid, Jason was bound to be happy because he heard dozens of voices issuing bids the moment the auctioneer had opened the bidding for the first egg.
It was completely different from the bidding of the Spiral Spirit Egg, but this was exactly why Jason was confused.
He never expected that nobody would bid for the Spiral Spirit egg because he assumed that even the mutated form should have its worth.
Nevertheless, Jason wouldn't complain about it. Instead, he was thankful for their generosity of not bidding for the Spiral Spirit egg.
In the end, some might have wanted to bid for the egg, but instead of wasting their resources, they were ready to use the 10 superior Ascendion rank cultivation stones, which they had saved from not purchasing the half mutated egg, to raise the bidding amount of the other eggs!
However, what Jason didn't expect to happen only a few moments after the bidding of the first Grand Spirit egg began was someone raising the bid to an extraordinary level.
"1000 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion rank!"
A moment before, the bidding price had just reached 100, but now it increased tenfold with a single bid causing a commotion within the rows of non-VIPs.
At the same time, the other VVIPs turned their heads towards the old woman who made the bid, glaring at her for a moment before returning their attention back to the stage.
Suddenly a second voice rang out, shocking the non-VIPs even more.
"1500 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion rank!"
Jason's eyes widened at this bid, but the old man, who stood next to the young prodigious woman he had seen earlier, didn't seem to be bothered about the price he had just voiced out.
Despite the price Jason found to be already astronomical, the bidding continued, and only now did he truly find out that it was his pure stroke of luck that awarded him the chance to acquire the Spiral Spirit egg.
However, the powerhouses' interest was simply somewhere else, trained on the Grand Spirit eggs that were unscathed!
