Chapter 518 - Airship
Chapter 517: Airship
As Charles walked into the Redhills city, he was greeted by the sight of endless tall buildings, skyscrapers, Magic Towers, and broad roads on the streets made of concrete.
The tall buildings had glass windows and balconies where various people stood and chatted. On the ground, it was a bustling city of people. Charles casually observed the passerby and soon zeroed his gaze on the wooden carriages that stood in line for transportation purposes.
At that moment, the carriage drivers greeted the newly arrived guests from faraway places and asked them if they needed their transportation facility.
Some even dragged the naive customers to the carriages and compelled them to get in.
'Now that I think about it, I don't have any money!' In truth, he forgot that one needed Blood Currency for living here. Golds and Silvers were nothing more than some precious elements.
The currency used in the Blood Empire was called 'Blood Crystals.' It varies in size, and each crystal's value could be analyzed by the strange crystal method called 'Blood System.'
'Hmm, where can I find the currency exchange centers?' He glanced at the surroundings and soon saw a young man in his luxurious dress entering the city with tens of soldiers surrounding him. Anyone could tell that he was a nobleman with a simple glance!
'Hmm, there are no powerful people nearby. All of his guards are only Rank-3 Mystics.' He observed the guards quietly and thought of taking this young master's pocket money.
He moved near the young man, searched his body using wisdom power, and found a pouch full of Blood Crystals in his bag.
After that, he manipulated his invisible strings and soon let them move towards that pouch.
A second later, he pulled his hand all of a sudden, directly caught the leather pouch that appeared out of nowhere, and stored it inside his space ring.
It took less than two seconds for him to steal that amount from the young man!
After that, Charles walked past the group and soon arrived near a horse-driven wooden carriage.
"Where do you want to go, dear customer?" A middle-aged man in the driver's seat asked him politely.
Meanwhile, Charles took out three peanut-sized blood crystals from his space ring, gave them to the coachman, and added.
"Airport."
Then, he entered the carriage and waited for the coachman to start driving.
Meanwhile, the coachman first tied the horses to the carriage, pulled the reins, and drove it deep into the Redhills City.
The carriage drove past many streets, left the Commoners' Borough, entered the Merchants' Land, and soon reached the northern side of the city.
It was the place where Redhills airport was located.
The airport building was surrounded by numerous skyscrapers and tall buildings and appeared more like a stadium. The carriage went into a long, narrow path, made several turns, and stopped at the building's entrance.
Charles then stepped out of the wooden carriage and moved towards the terminal building. While walking, he saw nobles, robed mages, and many mystics in formal dresses moved in and out constantly and were carrying similar red-crystalline sheets in their hands.
He also mimicked their action, hurriedly took the red crystalline sheet and his identity documents, and moved towards the main entrance.
Soon, he showed everything to the security guard and finally entered the building.
Then, he checked his Airship ticket and memorized the Airship number and his seat number.
"Airship name: BE-AIR45, Zone-5, Seat no: 430."
While muttering, he glanced around and checked the right direction to reach the zone-5 area.
After a short glance, he noticed an arrow mark indicating Zone-1 to Zone-10 to his right side and started walking in that direction.
Unlike the airports on Earth, this one looked simpler and appeared less crowded. Along the way, he saw many uniformly dressed gentlemen and women move past him and sensed all of them were powerful mages.
'It seems they are staffs. But what kind of work would they do?'
Hiding his curiosity, Charles continued to walk on the long hallway and soon arrived in front of a staircase. Then, he went upstairs, moved to the second terminal, and proceeded forward while following the arrow mark.
After some time, he soon saw a group of people standing over the right side, looking outside through the glass window.
[You are currently in Zone-1 area, Host. You have to walk more than 1.5 km to reach your destination.]
A synthetic voice echoed in his head, causing his lips to twitch.
Shaking his head, he fastened his footsteps and moved further into the hallway-like place.
After a few minutes of walking, Charles finally reached zone-5 and soon furrowed.
At that moment, he saw hundreds of people standing in a queue right next to the side exit.
'I hate this.'
He grumbled inwardly, joined the queue with no other choice, and looked outside through the glass window.
Around 200 meters away from where they were standing, he saw that a giant airship descended from the cloudy sky and landed smoothly!
The airship had an elegant metal shape that looked like the body of a dragon, and the front was painted blue. The airship's outer sides had a symbol of 'Blood Moon' drawn in red color, and it looked more like an airship used for wars and invasions. Multiple magic propellers appeared on the four sides of the base ship and seemed mysterious and powerful.
Blue flames spewed out from the propellers as the airship continued to run even after landing and caused the surrounding atmosphere to heat up quickly. Three vanes filled with strange runal engravings also rotated at an unimaginable speed and began to slow down.
Upon seeing such a large airship, Charles couldn't help but suck in a cold breath.
Even the base of the balloon-like airship appeared as large as a three-storied mansion house.
'It's more than three the size of a normal passenger airplane.'
Inside the airship, there were a lot of passengers in formal dresses and casual clothes, and they appeared to be standing leaving the airship.
At that moment, a red-robed mage moved towards the airship from the second terminal and cast a magic spell.
The next instant, illusionary steps appeared from the ground and soon connected towards the airship's main entrance gate.
Following that, the passengers from the airship climbed down and moved towards the airport's main terminal.
Just as Charles was staring at the airship in amazement, a young lady in red uniform walked past him and soon reached the right side exit gate.
After that, she unlocked the exit door, checked the passengers' tickets, and allowed them to move downstairs.
Charles also showed his red crystalline ticket to the young lady, went downstairs through the metallic staircase, and soon reached the apron.
Soon, he and others reached the airship's base, climbed up through the same illusionary stairs, and entered the passengers' compartment.
The airship interior was an oval shape with the base of the hull made of metallic iron and filled with a large number of seats. The passenger compartment resembled more like a normal plane from Earth, and it was filled with many windows, benches, and chairs.
Charles entered the compartment through a glass door, stepped on the red-carpeted floor, and started searching for his seat.
After a minute of a long search, he found his seat at the farthest end of the compartment and sat comfortably on it.
After that, he leaned towards the glass window and waited for the airship to start.
After 15 minutes of waiting, the airship made loud noises while thrusting bluish flames from the propellers and levitating up in the sky.
Before long, the airship appeared above the Redhills city and started moving in the northern direction.
