Chapter 485: Intruder
At that moment, Charles's incarnation thought of its weakness and spoke.
"I can't maintain this Incarnation form for too long. Also, it will be difficult to cast the [Burning Consciousness] spell during battle."
"What is your suggestion, then?" Charles raised his eyebrows and asked with a frown.
Meanwhile, the incarnation went silent for a few seconds and finally answered.
"Imprint! If I turn myself into an imprint and attach to her, I think there would be no problem. In that way, I don't need to spend too much energy to maintain the incarnation body."
"That's fine. As long as you finish your job, I don't have any problem." Charles said with a smile.
"Got it." The incarnation nodded as it went towards the left side wardrobe and picked up a black cloak. Then, it wore the cloak over its illusionary body and covered its head with the hood.
Then, the incarnation cast the [Flame Teleportation] spell on itself and disappeared from Charles's eyes.
"Well, I should also go and do my work," Charles muttered inwardly, walked out of his room, and went towards the Throne Hall.
Along the way, he also met Julius's younger brother and his sister and exchanged a few words with them. Although he could've avoided them, he decided to continue his acting for a few more months.
Once he reached the throne hall, he summoned all the Saint Knights and then gave new secret missions for them.
Their goal was to go to different kingdoms and bring back different kinds of silver crowns, which he saw in the future visions.
If he solely depends on his strength, it might take him months or even a year to collect all the items from different parts of the world.
But now, he decided to split the work and give it to the elites. Although they weren't powerful enough to battle an Awaken, their strength was more than enough to steal the crowns and escape.
Once he explained everything about their next job, Charles replicated a piece of his memory about the silver crowns and put them in the Saint Knights' mind.
The next day, a total of eleven Saint Knights left the Royal Palace of Aetas Kingdom and went to different parts of the Faith Realm's mainland.
Some Saint Knights moved towards a particular Kingdom called 'Narva,' while the rest moved towards other places.
Their goal was, of course, to find the mysterious silver crowns!
Meanwhile, Charles remained in the Royal Palace and focused his full attention on managing the official works.
At first, he also thought of going to the Braiba Kingdom and started looking for the Golden Dice.
He was indeed eager to know what was so special about that Golden Dice!
But he suppressed his curiosity and then took care of the official matters first, like completing all the document works, foreign meetings, gatherings, and he even adjusted two banquet dates.
He also focused his attention on his left eye and tried to control it fully during his free time.
Unfortunately, he soon learned that he needed more than a decade to control that power!
'I also need to comprehend the [Eyes of the Runes] skill to grasp the pure wisdom essence in my eyes. Although the inheritance gift forcefully pushed this wisdom essence into my eyes and made a strange mutation, I must comprehend the wisdom essence in the next few years to make this wisdom essence my own. Otherwise, the essence might leak like what is currently happening in the Eye of Insight stone and disappear from my eyes one day. In the worst-case scenario, I might lose the recent upgrades of my eyes.' A grim look appeared on his face.
'But if I completely comprehend that power, I might be able to open a pathway to the Dream World and go there whenever I want,' He muttered inwardly and decided to put an eyepatch on his left eye.
...
Thirteen days later.
Throne Hall, Royal Palace, Royal Capital of Aetas Kingdom.
Currently, more than hundreds of people like nobles, knights, servants, and even some commoners were seated in the hall and were in the middle of listening to a noble advisor's words.
He was talking about Demi-Valley and Citrus River dispute, which lasted for more than five decades.
While Charles was thinking of a solution, an anxious voice came from the Throne Hall's entrance and interrupted his thinking.
"Sorry for the intrusion, Your Majesty. But I came here with a gift from a faraway land. Could you please ask your soldiers to open the gate?"
On the other hand, Charles squinted his eyes, looked at the Throne Hall entrance, and peered into the other side. At that moment, a middle-aged man stood outside the Throne Hall and held a large wooden chest in his hand. Surrounding him were the elite Royal Knights pointing their various weapons towards his neck and was ordering him to put down the wooden chest box.
If not for Charles's analyzing skill, he would've thought of him as a wandering knight.
'Although I couldn't scan him due to a mysterious forcefield around his body, I can vaguely guess that he is not a random soldier. Is he a Rank-5 Demon Sorcerer? An assassin?'
Charles raised his eyebrows while placing his right hand on the throne's arm and ordered.
"Let him in."
Upon hearing the order, two Royal Knights hurriedly ran towards the entrance gate and opened it, allowing the nobles and others to see the intruder's face.
The intruder was a man with brown hair, blue eyes, and sculptured outlines and was holding the wooden chest tightly like some precious treasure. He was 1.77 meters tall and nearly 50 years old. His figure was maintained well, but some burn marks appeared on his left chin, ruining his handsome face a little. Currently, he wore a thin black surcoat and looked tired. At this moment, he showed a surprised look on his face and soon stepped into the throne hall.
Before long, he arrived a few meters away from the throne canopy and knelt on the ground before greeting him.
"The 'Mystique' of the Deceivers' Organization greets Your Majesty Julius."
'Oh? Interesting,' Charles also put a smile on his face and asked.
"You aren't here to assassinate me?"
On the other hand, the middle-aged man named 'Mystique' shook his head and stood up while placing the wooden chest box on the carpeted floor.
Then, he bent his waist a bit and bowed his head once again before answering.
"Lord Bryson sent me here to deliver the silver crowns that you are searching for, Your Majesty."
For a moment, a strange silence appeared in the Throne Hall.
'How did he know? Irzoch got caught by the enemies? No, something isn't right. The [Overlord Curse] is still working, which means she isn't dead yet. Moreover, my incarnation is still alive...'
Charles frowned deeply and soon heaved a deep sigh.
"How did you know that I needed the silver crowns?" He couldn't help but ask.
