‘The military academy cadets are cheering for us like this…’
Is it because they’re fans of Dokgo Miro?
But given that it’s Jang Namwook who’s cheering the hardest, it doesn’t seem to be the case.
Jang Namwook isn’t a huge fan of Dokgo Miro considering that he doesn’t mention her often.
Then I saw some familiar bald cadets.
‘They’re the ones who came all the way to Hongcheon to catch Do Sihoo.’
The cadets were cheering for our class with a similar intensity as Jang Namwook.
Are they still grateful for the Do Sihoo incident?
It was Professor Ham Geunhyung who actually took care of it, but it was our class who’s getting the thanks.
I felt embarrassed because it felt like I was receiving too much support.
Of course, the exception was Do Sihoo, who was whistling next to Jang Namwook.
Considering the hardships that Jang Namwook went through, simply cheering for our class isn’t enough for that guy.
“Hello everyone! We are Class 1-0!”
Dokgo Miro waved her hand vigorously and elicited a louder cheer.
More audiences joined in on the military cadets’ intense cheering.
As if they knew what song we’d sing beforehand, a loud group singing began as soon as the music started.
Dokgo Miro looked surprised but smiled broadly as she pulled the microphone out of the fixed stand.
‘Didn’t she decide to stand still while singing during the rehearsal?’
She made a new decision considering the hyped atmosphere, and I thought it would indeed be no fun if she only stood while singing.
She looked at us and nodded before started running on the stage.
Whenever she held out the microphone to the audience, the singing voices of at least a few hundred people were heard.
The thrill and excitement were at their peak.
‘So this is how it feels to be on stage.’
Although I’m only the triangle player, it was rewarding to be accompanying the great singing of Dokgo Miro.
Before I knew it, I was full of desire to complete this stage well.
The sound of the audience singing grew louder as the song continued, and Dokgo Miro raised her voice to not be overpowered.
She also showed an unplanned sharp choreography, making the audience more excited.
“The last song we’re going to sing means a lot to us. I’m so happy to be able to sing with my classmates at the Eungwang High Festival!”
In an instant, two of the three songs we prepared passed by.
The last song was the mission song that Dokgo Miro sang while busking at the school’s main gate.
The song began with the viola and contra-bass performance, which the absent Ong Gildong and Goo Seulbi recorded in advance.
Thanks to the mixture of various instruments, the song sounded brighter and cooler than the original arrangement.
And at the climax of the second verse, the accompaniment was cut off.
Then again, Kwon Lena’s violin and Mok Wooram’s pian accompaniment began.
The highlight part is the reproduction of the busking performance.
‘I think it’s improved a lot from before though.’
Dokgo Miro was singing with a truly joyful heart, and Kwon Lena’s violin skills have clearly progressed.
And Mok Wooram’s frequency of fainting decreased while his chemistry with Kwon Lena improved.
Perhaps because they’ve grown from the past performance, the perfection of the stage increased.
Fans of Dokgo Miro, who surely have played the busking video repeatedly until they got sick of it, were bursting into tears.
I could see Geum Chansol comforting Jung Haeon while she held her camera.
Waaah!
At the end of the last song, along with the high note adlib added by Dokgo Miro, the cheer was louder than we first appeared.
There were also sporadic calls for an encore, but we still had schedules after the performance.
It was a shame, but that was the end of our class performance.
Instead of an encore, Dokgo Miro introduced our classmates one by one and thanked the audience.
“There are more great performances waiting. Please enjoy until the end!”
The stage behind our class was the work of the theater department.
Yeon Garam of Class 2-0 will appear as the main character, so I’m sure the seniors will lighten the mood.
As expected, Yeon Garam and the theater department were preparing backstage.
Finally, I waved to the military cadets led by Jang Namwook and went down the stage.
I felt a great sense of relief when we left the stage.
“Ah, it’s over.”
“Didn’t we do really well?”
“I think Miro sang better than when we practiced!”
The kids high-fived each other, and I could only focus on my relief.
‘I didn’t make a mistake!’
A triangle is easy to hit, but the sound is always clear and resonant.
A small mistake on a triangle is easily noticeable.
I was conscious of that so I repeatedly studied and practiced not to miss a single beat, and fortunately it bore good results.
Of course, the reception to the performance was great because of Dokgo Miro and the passionate cheering of the military cadets.
‘By the way, did Moon Saeron and Namgung Gyuyeon know each other?’
I remembered seeing something as I went down the stage.
Moon Saeron and Namgung Gyuyeon were talking around Jang Namwook.
Moon Saeron has wide connections like the journalist that she is, and she speaks well without being shy, so it’s not strange for her to have an acquaintance from the military academy.
Still, Namgung Gyuyeon is Hong Gyubin’s sister and an official of the Namgung Group.
It somehow bothered me.
“Great job you guys. Take a good rest and see you tomorrow!”
“Call me if anything comes up.”
“I’ll tell you when Wooram wakes up!”
The first day of the Eungwang High Festival wrapped up after we watched the other presentations at the hall.
Nothing particularly notable happened, but when the performance of the string club was over, Mok Wooram fainted.
Not really fainted per se, but his legs turned into jello and he couldn’t get up for a while.
The string club was the last to perform.
‘Kwon Jein entered just before the performance started.’
Although she didn’t show herself during the live performance of our class, honorary teacher Kwon Jein appeared during the performance of the string club.
Kwon Jein showed up perhaps because she helped the string club practice several times.
The audience roared at the sight of the blue violinist, and the string club was greatly shaken by the unexpected appearance of their senior.
As a result, a big mistake occurred during the performance, and it was stopped once before resuming.
At that time, it was Kwon Lena who calmly comforted the freshman member and lead the performance.
It didn’t show much because Kwon Lena didn’t have a solo part but in Mok Wooram’s words;
— I can feel Lena leading the performance.
Mok Wooram supports Kwon Lena as his muse, but he’s not the type to lie.
Kwon Lena led the performance, keeping her calm among the nervous members.
Greatly moved by the appearance, Mok Wooram couldn’t get up from his seat for a long time even after the performance.
He didn’t faint, but it seems like Mok Wooram still has a long way to go.
Normally, I would’ve been next to him until he came to his senses, but I had something to do today.
Dingdong.
At that time, a message arrived on my device.
[Yoo Sanghoon] (Video)
[Yoo Sanghoon] Lol
It was from Yoo Sanghoon, but the more than one-letter message made me doubt if it was him.
[Jang Namwook] What video is that? Let me check.
[Jang Namwook] Ah, It’s Euishin’s performance at the festival! I couldn’t video it because I was busy cheering, but this is good I’ll save it. Thanks.
[Jang Namwook] Ah… just looking at Euishin makes it feel different.
Jang Namwook put it nicely, but when I checked the video, I could see why Yoo Sanghoon was laughing.
I looked stiff and played with my hands like a robot.
[Yoo Sanghoon] It’s worse than the video conference LOL
Is he this excited about the festival?
Yoo Sanghoon was unusually talkative.
I didn’t make a mistake during any of those instances though.
In fact, I was working hard to match my classmates.
For example, the first song has Hwang Jiho hitting his instrument three times and hitting it a second later, and just before Hani starts the heel-down maneuver, I will hit the triangle at the same time as Saeum of April plays the eighth string.
The performance was completed safely thanks to my thorough strategy.
Yoo Sanghoon, who didn’t have any idea about my hard work, just laughed.
Jang Namwook praised the entire performance, but he didn’t really say that Yoo Sanghoon was wrong.
He must’ve felt the same way.
I decided to thank them for coming to the concert and turned off the message box.
“Sorry for calling you out during the festival. I enjoyed your performance today.”
As soon as I turned off my device screen, the person I was supposed to meet talked to me.
It was Sung Siwan.
“I heard that you found Soohyuk’s cousin. Is everything alright? Should we postpone this if you’re tired?”
“No, I don’t have any other time. Was Joo Soori’s disappearance reported to the Jiikhoe?”
Although tomorrow is still festival day, I decided to meet with him since I have a lot to prepare for.
But did the Joo Soori case spread wide?
Although the case was safely closed, it’s not good to be widely known that a VIP of the Joo-Oh Group, a middle school student, went missing during the festival.
“The Jiikhoe got a call to cooperate. I got a description in case she came here, but the details weren’t said to me.”
Although they were busy dealing with the Class Zero alumni, it seems that Jiikhoe was still contacted for help.
Listening to Sung Siwan’s explanation, it was unlikely that the story would spread from the Jiikhoe.
I don’t know about the current chairman, but Sung Siwan is trustworthy.
‘I wouldn’t have come alone if I didn’t trust Sung Siwan.’
I trusted him so I took the time late at night to come and meet him alone.
“…”
In front of the Student Council Hall.
With a complicated expression, Gye Idam was waiting for Sung Siwan and me.
While moving, Sung Siwan stood between Gye Idam and me as he made conversation about today’s festival.
However, Gye Idam couldn’t answer properly as if his mind was somewhere else.
[I see you’ve brought them here.]
In the boss room of the otherworld simulator.
The former head of the association looked the same as I last saw him.
[You asked me to read your memory. Do you know what that means?”
“…Yes.”
A player’s mind is protected by their energy waves.
Just as the brain and heart and protected by muscles and bones, the mind of the player who moves energy is protected by energy waves.
The former head’s power is to dig into the gaps of a player’s energy waves and rummage through their memories.
As Gye Idam requested to have his memories checked, he should voluntarily suppress his energy waves that instinctively go up to protect his mind.
To put it simply, it’s like he’s cutting his own stomach to see what’s inside.
[I think you’re ready.]
The former head of the association reached out and grabbed Do Wonwoo’s head.
Gye Idam flinched for a second, but he accepted the hand gently.
Soon, he began to suppress his energy waves.
Sweat flowed from Gye Idam’s forehead and his face turned pale.
His physical functions must be deteriorating because his survival and defensive instincts were being suppressed.
“Idam-ah!”
At Sung Siwan’s voice, Gye Idam’s trembling hands gained strength.
At that time, the former head of the association spoke.
[Let’s look at this clearly. It’s the most intense memory that he has.]
At the same time, the former head’s light skill encroached on the surroundings.
The difference from when I experienced the light skill was that the former head was in front of me and I had no sense of distraction.
‘I don’t see Gye Bastard.’
The former head and Sung Siwan were next to each other, but Gye Idam was gone.
“What is this place…!”
On the road, behind the acrid smoke, I saw cars colliding.
