The kids, who were excited at the thought of receiving snacks, looked surprised at how Sung Siwan looked.
I was surprised too, but I didn’t think it was strange.
Many of the third graders at Eungwang High were mentally cornered, and everyone at school knew this.
Some students still haven’t decided on their career paths, while some are still facing challenges in the form of exams and interviews.
In particular, many students were physically exhausted because they had to show off their talents to interview professional player teams.
So even though Sung Siwan looked tired, he didn’t stand out.
‘Sung Siwan already passed a university, but the kids don’t know that.’
Sung Siwan isn’t the type of person to brag about getting accepted to college.
“Good luck with the exam. Let me know if you need anything. If you have any questions… Well, you have Euishin, so I guess you’ll be alright.”
Sung Siwan cheered us up and handed us bags containing snacks.
Saeum of April received one first and greeted him brightly.
“Yep! Good luck with your exams too, sunbaenim!”
“Exams? Oh, thanks. I’m cheering on you guys too.”
Sung Siwan glanced at me.
There was no career-related test that he was preparing for.
The only test he was taking was from the former head of the association.
When I was about to get the snacks and head to my dormitory room…
“Euishin-ah, give me a minute.”
Sung Siwan called me up.
I had no other things to do today, and I didn’t have a reason to reject him so I said yes.
I hope Sung Siwan could take a break while talking to me.
I followed his footsteps, trying to guess what the topic would be.
‘Must be because of the former head.’
Sung Siwan led me to the Jiikhoe Hall lounge.
Perhaps because it was the exam period, a lot of students were still scattered in the lounge.
There were students reading texts on holograms while lying down, students listening to recorded lectures, some were sleeping, and some gave up and played games.
Sung Siwan pointed to the vending machine.
“Want some juice?”
“I have to sleep soon, so no thank you.”
“Yeah, it’s a little late.”
Sung Siwan pulled his hand off the coffee button.
Just because I didn’t want a drink doesn’t mean he can’t.
The former chairman of the Jiikhoe has a level of consideration incompatible with the current chairman.
After turning on the lights, the soundproof mode was set in the room and Sung Siwan brought up the subject.
“I think I can beat my grandfather by the end of the freshmen and sophomores’ final exam.”
Sung Siwan smiled slightly.
I was worried because he didn’t look well, but he seems to be determined.
Wait, did he just refer to the former head as his grandfather?
I remember him treating Sung Siwan coldly, and I can’t believe Sung Siwan regards him as so.
I decided to listen to him first.
“I had a lot of chances to try after the exam. I didn’t know what to do at first, but Idam helped me a lot.”
Sung Siwan looked cautious when he mentioned Gye Idam.
He knew I wasn’t happy with the man.
I was still dissatisfied with Gye Idam, but I don’t want to be dismissive of Sung Siwan’s story.
The former head of the association seemed to have allowed Sung Siwan and Gye Idam to formulate s strategy in advance.
The confrontation is still one-on-one, and it doesn’t sound like Gye Idam has faced the former head yet.
“Then shall we make an appointment at the end of the exam period?”
“Ah…I think it’ll take some more time since Idam has to face grandfather too.”
I expected it, but it was unpleasant nonetheless.
The malicious commenter wasn’t helpful with his intrusion last time.
Not long ago, I had this conversation with him about Ahn Dain’s hidden quest.
— What’s it about?
— ……It happened in her sophomore year, but Ahn Dain didn’t appear much so.
I wanted to ignore him but I gave him the chance.
I regretted it since he couldn’t think about the hidden quest in the end.
Does Ahn Dain’s hidden quest actually exist?
I don’t think Gye Idam has any reason to lie about it, but I found it difficult to believe.
Sung Siwan continued talking.
“It’s hard to see such a scene. But I want to prevent that from happening. I hope Idam overcomes it too.”
Sung Siwan’s cheekbones were more prominent, the lack of sleep obvious in his eyes.
Yet a glint in his tired eyes tells me that he’s determined.
Sung Siwan seemed to want Sung Siwan in the plan until the end.
What good fortune Gye Idam is experiencing to have such a great senior.
In any case, it wouldn’t be bad to put Gye Idam through the cruel fantasy shown by the former head.
Maybe it would bring him to his senses.
I decided to respect Sung Siwan’s will to accompany Sung Siwan.
“Then let’s set the appointment next time. Did you decide to call him grandfather?”
“Yes, Grandfather gave me permission.”
Sung Siwan’s face brightened a little.
I don’t know if it’s because of his grandfather or Gye Idam.
I had a little more chat with him about the former head before bidding farewell.
Soon enough, I arrived back at my dormitory.
Dingdong.
Before entering my room, I heard a message alarm.
The message that I checked while entering the room distracted me from the cold inside.
The message was from Ok Toyeon.
[Ok Toyeon] Benefactor, benefactor, what are you doing?
[Ok Toyeon] Seoho and Iho are done with their exams. I miss Seoho, Iho, Jaeho, and you, benefactor!
[Ok Toyeon] I can make time right away!
Ok Toyeon seemed to be very excited to see the descendants who had just finished their entrance test.
But why is she saying that she’ll make the time right away?
Song Daesok is sometimes absent because of satellite issues during the final exam period.
How can Ok Toyeon, who is in charge of the Moon Palace, have a free schedule?
I don’t know if Ok Toyeon knew what her message meant.
[Ok Toyeon] Benefactor, benefactor, I heard you’re busy preparing for the finals.
[Ok Toyeon] Why do you guys always have exams ㅠㅠ
Well, because we’re students.
Ok Toyeon whined a little before backing down.
[Ok Toyeon] Alright ㅠㅠ Good luck with your exams.
[Ok Toyeon] But you have to call me during the festivals! Got it?
Why would the head of the Rabbit Clan come to see a student at a school festival?
It’s a well-known fact that Ok Toyeon is close to the Tiger Clan, so I guess it wouldn’t be strange.
I think Hwang Jiho would hate it, but it doesn’t matter.
I concluded the conversation by appeasing Ok Toyeon, saying that I’d invite her to the festival.
The next message was also from a clan head.
[Prankster] I received a picture of you wearing a tie pin, sir. I think it looked good on you though. I pulled out some new designs and I’ll send you what I like.
[Prankster] (Photo)
Seodol still hasn’t given up.
He sent me a tie pin last time as a gift when he was asking me to be Neuru’s ambassador.
He said he wanted to see me wear it and he was about to invade Eungwang High.
To stop him, I had no choice but to take a picture of me wearing the pin.
It seems to have fueled Seodol’s unnecessary desire for creativity.
‘He’s using honorifics right now. I guess he’ll be more annoying if I ignore him.’
Looking at his message though, I got more and more annoyed.
[Prankster] I’ll wait for your reply, sir.
[Prankster] Ah, I can go to you personally too. It’s alright with me.
Seodol wants to come to school during the exam period?
He’s alright with it, but I’m not.
After much consideration, I chose a design draft among those that he sent.
He seemed to have been appeased as no further message came back.
I prevented him from invading Eungwang High, but it somehow felt like I was being tricked.
The next message was incredibly long.
[Jang Namwook] Euishin-ah, Sanghoon-ah. Are you guys preparing well for the exam? It’s the last exam for your freshman year, so do your best and not leave regrets. The military academy had the exams early. We’re done with our exam today.
[Yoo Sanghoon] Congrats.
[Jang Namwook] Thanks, Sanghoon-ah. I feel relieved but sad after the exam. I never got to beat Sihoo in the end. Sihoo kept the top spot.
Jang Namwook narrated in length how he felt about the final exam.
Yoo Sanghoon gave short and steady answers, though I’m not sure if he reads all of Namwook’s texts.
‘I guess Do Sihoo is the top scorer.’
Jang Namwook has been more diligent in school than Do Sihoo and he doesn’t have the weakness of being in water, yet he was unable to beat Do Sihoo.
Considering Do Wonwoo and Cheon Dongha, TC Group seems to have a lot of excellent people in the sea of rotten ones.
Perhaps that’s why the group is still alive.
After finishing his long essay, Jang Namwook began to explain what he thought about the festival.
Jang Namwook mentioned it sometimes, but it seems like the Player Military High School festival was concluded plainly.
‘The military academy festival will be centered on the graduating students.’
I was impressed when I saw the video of the ceremony held during the military festival.
Seeing cadets in ceremonial uniforms moving in unison was amusing.
[Jang Namwook] We’re freed up now because the exams and festivals are all over. I’ll be busy again when the cold weather training starts. I think it’ll be Christmas by the time I finish my training.
[Yoo Sanghoon] Coming to the festival?
[Jang Namwook] You mean Eungwang High’s? It’s before my training starts so I’ll be able to go. I think most military cadets will go to the Eungwang High Festival. Many cadets want to go too because of the sports exchange event. We’re going to do some group activities, but we also have free time. I’ll definitely come by Sanghoon and Euishin’s class.
[Yoo Sanhgoon] K.
Jang Namwook replied in length, perhaps surprised that Yoo Sanghoon wrote a message longer than usual.
Jang Namwook burst out long sentences, expressing his expectations for Eungwang High Festival and his support for our final exam.
I also sent some short replies to his messages.
‘Eungwang High and the military academy’s exchange is continuous.’
The Black Screen tried to isolate Eungwang High by all means.
And not just Eungwang High — Hwangmyeong Group and the Tiger Clan were all tied up by them.
It was just an exchange between schools, but reading the messages made me feel glad as they were proof that Eungwang High wasn’t isolated.
Although I fell asleep reading Jang Namwook’s long messages, I woke up the next day and read them all.
The next morning, in Class Zero’s classroom.
“I heard from Cheongryong. Jeokho and Yong Jegun arrived at the Dragon Palace safely.”
The two arrived at the palace without any problem.
When I felt relieved, Hwang Jiho lowered his voice and whispered.
“But they said they couldn’t meet the Dragon King.”
