Today the Light Sphinx underwent similar changes than the Shadow Sphinxes of yesterday, they had suddenly become Midday Bastet overnight. I suspected that such change was because of my blessing, which included the Chimera Holy Mother Title, capable of inducing evolutions to my servants that could improve their strength… but I never imagined that such changes would occur so fast like it's happening right now.
I wonder if it related to their faith with me, perhaps Light Sphinxes yesterday were so shocked about my miracles that their faith increased by leaps and bounds, causing all of them to evolve right away after a night of sleeping… I also think that drinking my blood through the potions or the 'secret sauce' also helped with this.
Something to note is that the Light Sphinx that was 'revived' by having their corpses parasitized by my Slime Clones also evolved into Midday Bastet, however they had the (Chimera) classification, though most citizens do not possess Appraisal, so I and the clones were the only ones that we're able to confirm their race names through the system.
Midday Bastet's skin color had changed from their usual pale white skin to more reddish skin color, their blonde hair became brighter and their lower halves became slimmer for most of them, some Midday Bastet gained a new extra tail. Their eyes had turned crimson red and orange, and they were now capable of controlling Fire Attribute as easy as Light or Holy.
Most of the people found such changes very drastic, to say the least, but after getting to understand that it was thanks to my grace, they quickly accepted it and embraced their new changes.
Thanks to the 'revived' Royal Family being now just my clones inside of the original bodies, the Pharaoh was able to easily convince the people that 'there was nothing wrong' with the change, as it was a grace of both The Goddess (me), Morpheus and Mohini.
Just like the Chaos Human or the Midnight Bastet, I felt a small indescribable connection with these Sphinxes… Bastet now. Even their bloodlines were updated to new and stronger innate talents and powers, I wonder if Morpheus or Mohini felt the connection with their descendants become dimmer.
Well, Morpheus seemed so open-minded about me taking over his children that I don't think he would say much about it… he is rather different than other gods, similar to his siblings, they don't really care about themselves but the safety of their children… Well, I cannot help but think the same as him from time to time… I haven't considered it before, but I would give my life for my children as well, although it would be better to get strong enough to keep on living and protecting them through their entire lives if possible.
After I checked on all of the citizens (or most of them), we moved to the reconstructed tower-like royal castle and had a large breakfast in the dining hall. There, we decided to taste some of the food grown and hunted on the Desert, there was Earth and Rock Wurm meat slices tasteful and covered in a sour sauce made out of yogurt and herbs, juicy and sweet Cactus Fruit, which resembled melon on its richness, grilled skewers of Giant Sand Worm meat, tender and sweet, resembling the meat of eel and several different teas with aromatic and mystical flavors that filled the hall in an atmosphere that really immersed us in the desert culture built by the Sphinx.
"Oh, by the True Spirits! I can't believe how amazing are these teas! I am dazzled on their richness and aroma~ I would gladly dispose of this city tea supply to carry to my palace…" said Nefertiti, as she filled her lungs with the aromatic steam produced by the warm tea in the morning.
"I'm glad Nefertiti-sama finds our teas as delectable," said one of the royal servants who wasn't 'revived' by my Slime Clones, sincerely.
"Ohoho! This tea is really something else… even by comparing it with the tea made by the Elves… or even the teas made by the Dryads back in the Empire… Could it be that there may be some kind of special preparation method? I wonder in which conditions do this tea is grown?" asked Acelina with a devilish laugh as she sipped the aromatic tea with a dark red color.
"A-Acelina-sama… there isn't any 'special method', they are a special species of herbs that grow in the arid desert, we managed to grown them in specialized areas surrounding the Oasis" said the servant, a little bit tired of having to explain such an unimportant thing such as tea.
"Acelina, don't trouble the people with such trivial questions… all of you servants can leave, and have the day off," I said.
"Yes, Goddess-sama"
As the servants left us alone, Amiphossia decided to speak her mind over what I just did yesterday.
"Mother, now that we are alone, will you tell me how you revived those people? I was pretty sure that their souls had drifted away! There wasn't even ghost behind…" she asked.
"Oooh… About that…! Haha…"
"M-Mom?"
"Well… I guess there isn't any point in hiding it from you, but these people really didn't resurrect, I inserted a Slime Clone in each corpse, and they 'revived' by the Slime Clone taking over their corpses, healing them from the inside and then obtaining several memories from their brains... That's the 'trick'… I used me recently obtained Life Attribute Magic to infuse life into the bodies to make them seem 'alive' and less 'lifeless'."
"W-What?! Is that true, mom?!"
"Incredible, guu!" celebrated Rimuru.
"To be expected of the mother, she can even resurrect people without the need of their souls!" said Ailine.
"Ohoho! That is 'devilish'!" said Acelina, trying to keep her act as a devil.
"It is a rather interesting experiment you did, Honey… To be able to 'revive' people even without a soul, we could use this in a variety of ways, the powers of your body are so limitless and full of uses that we are yet to understand! Please, lend me a few Slime Clones!" said Zehe.
"I'm not giving you any, I bet you will try to eat them!"
"Huh?! I-I would never…!" muttered Zehe, it seems that this was within her plans.
"Does mother want the power to shapeshift her body?" asked Ryo.
"N-No, my son! I'm perfectly fine as I am!" affirmed Zehe, with a forced prideful slime.
"Well what you did there was certainly questionable in an ethical standpoint, Kireina-sama," said Sofarpia.
"But we know that you did it to make the people happy, we know how hard and horrible is to lose those precious to us… So I'm rather glad that you did what you did, so those people can once again meet with their loved ones" said Sofelaia.
"Yeah, Sofelaia is right, I think so too," said Sofarpia while nodding in agreement.
"That's right! Mother, what you did gave me an amazing idea! What if I do the same… but with my ghosts?! Or my Phantasmal Soul?! I could use it to posses' corpses… or even other physical objects, like the ground itself!" said Amiphossia, bewildered by the sudden insight on the use of her vast and varied powers.
"I-I see… I'm glad what I did somehow gave you an insight into the use of your abilities, my daughter"
"Oh, Ami, could it be possible to revive your grandmother like that?" asked Nesiphae.
"Grandmother Amiphossia? I… Sorry mom, but I don't think its possible, her body had been buried in the ground for many years, she had most likely go back to the earth, becoming its nutrients and nourishment…" said Amiphossia, with a pained expression.
"A-Ah… I see… Well, it is fine, hopefully, you can create new friends!" said Nesiphae, quickly forgetting about what she asked, perhaps to not act sad in a carefree atmosphere.
After hearing the words 'new friends', Amiphossia's phantasmal soul expanded itself as Geraldine, Sesshomaru, Seishin, and Shirohibe appeared, floating in the air in their Ghosts Forms.
"N-New friends?! B-But Amiphossia-sama, are we not enough, nya?!" said Geraldine, bewildered.
"Woof!" growled Seishin, his height surpassing the five meters, he was currently taller than Amiphossia.
"Growl…" growled Sesshomaru, he was slightly smaller in size than Seishin, instead of angered or bewildered, he seemed saddened.
"My lady, may you reconsider such a decision? A-Aren't we enough for you?!" said Shirohibe… I think she is misinterpreting my daughter's feelings towards all of them.
"Hehehe, you guys don't need to worry! More friends mean more fun, right?" said Amiphossia, she was unaware that her party was perhaps too attached emotionally to her and saw new 'friends' as rivals.
"Hmm… it feels as if Ami had her own harem…" muttered Valentia.
"Well, she is our eldest sister, so it is to be expected… I wish that my Shark Familiars had such conduct, but they are rather tame… Hm, I wonder how Ervin is doing?" said Aarae, wondering about the handsome Kelpie Centaur who courted him, they only saw each other for a day and a half…
"Ah I miss my Evan as well!" said Amiphossia, breaking the hope of her ghost party members…
"E-Evan… That… dazzling goody-two-shoes!" said Geraldine while biting her nails.
"Grrr…" groaned Seishin.
"Growl!" added Sesshomaru.
"Evan? I haven't met him personally…" said Shirohibe.
"I haven't either! Amiphossia-sama keeps talking about him but we haven't even encountered him at all!" said Geraldine. She didn't like how Amiphossia always talked about someone that they had never meet in person…
"Well… he's already back in the Empire, Ami… perhaps I could make you a teleportation gate if you can't wait to meet him," I said.
"Ah! There is no need, mommy… We'll finish this dungeon today, right?"
"I suppose you're right, anyway, it seems that everyone had eaten to their heart's content, so let's get going… I've obtained an even stronger ability to manipulate Dungeons, so it should be a swift trip"
Before leaving, Acelina and Nefertiti grabbed several bags of the Desert's Tea with them.
When everyone was done and ready, I used the [Labyrinth's Sovereign Magic] Spell '[Dungeon Area Assimilation and Manipulation]' and opened a straight path through the endless sea of dazzling sand, breaking any laws or beliefs even thought possible by the Sphinxes, who saw my 'miracle' with eyes wide open.
"Impressive!"
"She moved the entire dungeon… as if it were an extension of herself…"
"She is really a Goddess!"
"We wish you good luck in your travels, oh Goddess!"
And with the praises of the people, we left the Light Sphinx city, now named as Midday Bastet City. I flew through the straight road made by my spell by shapeshifting into a giant, snake-like dragon similar to the Life Dragon King of Thunderstorms and Windstorms, it was a slim and long body, which was perfect to fly like a bullet through the air.
As Kireina flew with her family towards the Life Attribute Dungeon Last Boss, the meetings between the Demon Gods that reigned over the Thanatos Kingdom had suddenly heated up.
After the event where Agatheina suddenly cut all connections with the Demon Gods and retrieved her children away from the Thanatos Kingdom, several weaker Demon Gods decided to do the same, unhappy about the conservative mentality of the Deon Gods that reigned the Pantheon, they ran away from the grasp of Thanatos and his siblings, looking for new believers and chaos to stir.
Unlike other Gods who were once humans or demi-humans, most Demon Gods have different natures and personalities, just like Megusan, some have on their very divinity or in their instincts to be chaotic, irrational at times or even to foolishly look for conflict and the despair of mortals.
Such Gods were bored with the 'righteous' Demon Gods, as they called them, who only worried about their children and their future and not anymore about raising in power constantly. Things such as bonds, friends, or love were only but annoyances to them, things that really didn't matter.
These Demon Gods managed to run away when the major Demon Gods were in a state of alert after the 'parting gift' that Kireina left in the Thanatos Kingdom when she made the teleportation gate that she created explode within the Kingdom's inner city, freaking out several Gods who thought that it was an enemy invasion or attack.
And now, one of these Gods had finally begun to show its influence in two formerly allied Beastmen Kingdoms, the Feline, and the Canine Kingdom. By using its influence and God's powers, it created a large cult that influenced the people to be aggressive and hateful against their former allies.
This individual was Geggoron, the Demon Demigod of Hateful Distrust, whose divinity made him stronger as he was worshiped by believers that held wars filled with hate, being offered such sacrifices boosted his powers. He also had a Divinity Related to Nightmares, which he used to brainwash others. Much like the other Demon gods who left the Demon Pantheon, he desired to grow stronger by doing these 'evil' means instead of slowly nurturing its children while being worshiped.
"Geggoron! That annoying fool!" roared Primidone, the Demon Demigoddess of Deceiving Beauty.
"So he's just ruining our plans on taking over those Kingdoms, and he's trying to create a large cult that would stir war inside the entire Border Continent? What kind of stupid idiot he is?!" said Oculus, the Demon God of One Hundred Cursed Eyes.
"To be expected from someone with such a divinity, you cannot reason with those with such mentalities that only desire destruction and hate… We Demon gods are both cursed and blessed with powerful divinities related to such things, it could be said that we are part of the fortunate side that can do well-thought decisions… for the most part" analyzed Kinesis, the Demon God of Brains and Telepathy.
"Calm down, those fools will end up calling over the rage of the Beast Demigods… perhaps we are stronger than them, but that's because we are always together, just like them! If those fools separate themselves and try to mess things up with the Beast Demigods, they will end up being torn apart and sealed just like Megusan sooner or later…" said Thanatos.
"Heh, that's what they deserve anyways!" roared Varilok, the Demon Demigoddess of Phantom Bones, as her body made out of bones covered in phantasmal miasma laughed.
"Hmph… though, I do fear that these foolish savages may end up making 'Kireina' stronger…"
"Don't talk nonsense, she may have been able to stand a chance against Megusan… but against Demigods in their peak, that's impossible, she will get ahead of herself and then die, or be heavily wounded and escape, until our blessed children kill her and steal her Sin of Lust?" said Drostranith, the Demon Demigod of Burning Desires
"Hmm, our divinities are similar to these fools in some ways, but thankfully, our natures are different," said Jozrath the Demon God of Brutish Savagery.
Due to their previous conversation, the Demon Gods had already guessed that the Demon Gods that escaped from them would die or be sealed sooner or later by the Beast Demigods and that Kireina would most likely be tasked to kill it, ending in her death or heavily wounded.
They benefited the most if they didn't do a single thing.
