Earth's Alpha Primechapter 217.1: 3 long seconds (part-1)

Except for a few, most of the Tier-3 Alpha Chosen were injured. The majority of their condition was severe, and among them, those who fared better had either a limb or two missing.

If not for Min-soo teleporting them to the bounds of Andrea's healing range, half of the injured would have fallen by then.

They were grateful to Min-soo for saving them, but from the exhaustion on his face, it was apparent that he couldn't last much longer because of the non-stop usage of his abilities.

Their anxious thoughts were interrupted by a teleportation that sent them all far away from the battlefield.

Soon followed Jay's voice, informing every Alpha Chosen of the new development. 'MJ will keep the monster horde occupied. Everyone except for Felarial, Rex and Seath, leave this area….leave as if your lives depend on it. Even I am uncertain of the destructiveness my next attack could unleash.'

Not even a single Alpha Chosen doubted his words. Everyone activated whatever agility-based skills they had and turned around to run as if their lives depended on it.

The 'how' became irrelevant when the words came from the individual whom even the Plasma Predator didn't dare to face head-on.

MJ's corpse-integrated monsters went completely ballistic on the monster horde without minding the excessive Spirit Energy usage and diverted their attention onto themselves.

MJ's control over masteries was so precise that none of the elemental attacks from the five monster corpses it controlled had landed on the scattering Alpha Chosen.

Even with each corpse-integrated monster possessing the stats of peak Tier-3, withstanding more than two thousand rampaging monsters remained unrealistic; but attainable. After all, the goal wasn't to defeat but to stall the monster horde.

MJ's ability to integrate with monsters' corpses played a crucial role in accomplishing such a feat.

As soon as one of the corpse-integrated monsters succumbed to the horde, MJ took hold of one of the monsters that had most of their bodies intact and went at it.

As soon as one of the five corpse-integrated monsters fell, MJ spawned another one, whose overall stats then grew into that of a peak Tier-3 lifeform in just a matter of seconds at the expense of Looted stats.

Jay didn't mind the outpour of his Looted stats. After all, just the amount netted from the monsters he killed alone was more than enough for MJ to go at it for half an hour.

Everything would be decided in under a minute, much less the need to last for half an hour.

The commotion at such a scale couldn't possibly go unnoticed by the Plasma Predator. The giant monster suspected it had to do with the Silver Energy swirling over the weapon's surface to form strange patterns.

An unprecedented fear crept up its spine as the momentum carried by the Silver Energy took a drastic rise and grew even more frightening with each passing instant.

Plasma Predator's first move was to run...run as far as possible from Jay; everything else didn't matter at that point.

Taking out the Omega Chosen or the rest of the top Alpha Chosen wasn't among the top priorities, with death looming over.

Even after it began to distance itself, the eerie sensation didn't go away.

The instincts it heavily relied on continued to scream as if an impending doom was about to befall.

Sensing the inexplicable feeling grow over time despite how far it traversed, it feared whatever Jay was about to unleash wouldn't miss the target.

Noticing Felarial, Rex, and Seath standing guard over Jay sparked an outlandish thought about the fleeing monster.

'If the attack can't be evaded, why not interrupt it and stop it from being released in the first place.'

Plasma Predator stopped right in its tracks and hesitated for a brief moment.

After all, that was a really big 'if', a bold gamble. The chances of success were low, but not trying would most likely spell death.

So, in the end, the giant monster chose to follow its instincts and leapt in Jay's direction, dashing at breakneck speeds.

The ones guarding Jay braced themselves at the incoming giant. Felarial sighed as he was rendered pretty much helpless against a Tier-4 monster.

At his peak, he could have grilled the same monster into barbeque with just a thought. But he was no longer the same individual at peak Tier-7.

Still, if it was just a matter of buying time, he could have used any of the barrier devices from his vast collection, but unfortunately, the System didn't allow him or any other Tournament Managers, for that matter, to bring anything above Tier-3 into the Trial Program.

Because of that, Felarial had to leave his storage ring and most of its contents back in the Red Elven Empire and could only bring some miscellaneous items.

He knew that Rex and Seath couldn't be of much help in holding back the Plasma Predator from reaching Jay.

At that point, he was the only one capable of keeping the monster at bay, but that comes with the heavy price of burning away what's left of his already damaged Spirit Pool.

If he were to use it, his Spirit Pool would crumble to the point of no return, and the likelihood of dying would also be quite high.

But, in exchange, he could pump out skills matching the power output of aTier-5 Low-Phase lifeform for a few seconds.

The memory of mental vision from his Unique Innate Talent Skill <Fortuna Divination> resurfaced in Felarial's mind. The vision in which he ended up losing one-third of his upper body and handed over a thin line amidst life and death.

At first, he didn't understand why his Innate Talent nudged him to become a Tournament Manager despite knowing that he would end up on the verge of death.

However, being the witness to the capabilities of Jay and the other Earth's Alpha Chosen, he connected the dots and figured out that they were the key to rejoining his wife and child back.

He went all out, and with a fiery outburst, Felarial's upper body was enveloped by a coat of flames, burning away his shirt and showcasing his dark red skin.

With the combination of flames over him, he looked as menacing as a demon walking out from hell.
