Memorial Complex was famous for its vintage item sale yearly at the Purple Festival.
Out of its hundred floors, the last three floors were reserved for auction.
Typically, the items on the 98th floor were sold for more than ten million, 99th for more than a hundred million.
The 100th floor would only be opened conditionally if it was an item worth more than a billion.
Even though there were trillionaires in the economy, buying a vintage item for more than a billion was too rare.
So, the auction house on the 100th floor was mostly used as a tourist attraction.
"The seats here can soothe minds and heal minor ailments." Sarah marveled as she probed the exquisite grey chairs arranged in an arc across the auction stage.
"We have better chairs." Varian winked at Sarah. Even though the chairs here were excellent by themselves, compared to the ones he 'borrowed' from the deva library, they were trash.
"Way better, I say." Sia also nodded. Then, she communicated through telepathy. 'It can improve your progress and heal major injuries!'
Sarah's eyes widened. Just by using a chair, her progress would accelerate? She pouted at Varian with eyes that seemed to ask. 'Why didn't you tell me yet?'
"…We're on a vacation." Varian denied it vehemently.
Sarah's shoulders drooped.
Sia shrugged helplessly.
Varian was a stubborn guy. If he wanted to train, he'd train. If he wanted a vacation, he'd have a vacation. Even if she tried persuading, it's useless.
They toured the auction house and saw the records of the items sold here.
One-of-a-kind battleship.
A nine-star treasure.
A potion that can increase talent enough to give the awakener a serious chance to reach Sovereign state—Found in ruins.
Wait.
'Potion…!' A thought flashed in Varian's mind and turned to Sia in a swift movement.
She was at the end of the row displaying the sold items. So, what she was looking at must be the costliest item ever sold in the auction house.
Her eyes were wide as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her mouth opened and closed multiple times as she seemed to find difficulty in finding words.
'She's cute…' Varian chuckled at her comical expressions and turned to the item on display in curiosity.
What could shock Sia so much?
When his mental sense noticed the item, Varian's eyes also widened as his jaw dropped.
'The head of Abyss King.'
Bought for 11 Billion CP.
PS: It's made into a public urinal
"…Fuck." That was all Varian could say.
Humans sure were vengeful. To treat the ruler of an abyss that way…
Shaking his head, Varian moved to Sia.
Sarah was still sulking after he denied her training with the chairs from the library.
"Hmpf~" He could hear her snort from the lounge.
Looking back at the brown-haired girl, Varian called out. "Sia."
"Ye?"
Varian asked with a smile. "I have a question regarding the potions…but let's do it silently."
Saying so, he glanced at the crowd around. Along with them, there were hundreds of other guests enjoying the greatest auction hall of Eos.
Sia was a bit perplexed but nodded nonetheless.
'Enigma gives potions to others, so that means she knows how to make them, right?'
'More or less. Our blood is the crucial component.'
'Can you try it with my blood?'
'It should work since your talent is…Huh? Why? It's very exhausting! Even if she's a level 8, Enigma has to do it sparingly! Don't even think about it with your level.' Sia's expression was adamant.
'…I won't go around distributing my blood like Enigma, okay? I'll need maybe one potion or something like that.' Varian requested.
Sia's lips twitched at his first remark then her brows furrowed and she stared at Varian with an intense gaze. Her gaze shifted to Sarah in the lounge for a moment and she leaned towards him.
'For her?' Jealousy was overflowing in that beautiful face.
'For you as well.' Varian's answer was beyond her expectations.
'I…' Sia's face froze before turning beet red. Then, she coughed lightly. 'A-Anyway, I want to give you the potion as well.'
Varian's lips twitched. 'Since it's with your blood, I think my body will still repel it.'
'Ugh…why isn't your body listening to you?' Sia said in a joking tone, but the way she clenched her fists behind her back showed how she was truly feeling.
'I'll give you the potion. Let's see what happens. About making a potion from your blood, Enigma will need to appear.'
Varian's expression stiffened hearing Enigma's name and he hurriedly waved his hand. 'Let's talk about that later. Haha.'
Sia sighed after seeing his strained smile and shifted the topic. 'The distance between us reduced…'
'Yeah. After we slept together.' Varian nodded brightly. 'It's 8 feet down from 10 feet. Pretty good, I must say!'
'True.' Sia gave a smile with a mix of joy and awkwardness. That morning was too embarrassing.
Now that they both agreed to be his girlfriends, Sia felt like Varian, this shameless guy, would definitely take advantage of the situation and make a move…
Sia's face turned red as she began to imagine—
'I think we three should sleep together frequently to see if it can continue to decrease the repulsion.'
Called it!
Sia's expression was first one of triumph, then it suddenly turned into one of embarrassment, before she stiffly nodded and scurried into the lounge.
Then, she collapsed on the sofa, right next to Sarah. Then, she began to mutter something incomprehensible.
After a few seconds, she stood up with a serious face, as if she was prepared for a great battle.
Varian had no idea what was going through her mind.
Since the tour was basically finished at this point, they decided to leave.
But this time, Varian made sure they stopped by between the fortieth and sixtieth floors.
Sarah and Sia skipped these floors before and Varian felt that they should at least take a look.
"…you didn't even like anything on the 99th floor," Sia grumbled.
They were on the fiftieth floor now. Varian's reputation seemed to have spread as the stall owners gave them weird looks.
"I don't know. I might find—Woah!" Varian suddenly exclaimed and rushed to a stall.
His trembling finger pointed at a rather plain white box except for the picture of crashing waves on a beach under a purple sky.
"I want it!"
"I'll buy it!"
Hearing another voice at the same time, Varian turned to his right and saw the young lady he praised for bargaining.
