"Star? Are you okay?"
Hearing Master Yang's question, Star looked up, snapping back to reality. It was the second time she zoned out after hearing the truth about her sister's disappearance. She couldn't help it though. Finding out that Sunny was still alive was a shock to her.
"You came to tell me something but then turned quiet," Master Yang muttered as he took a bite of his omelet. "Tell me, what happened? Is this about Tian?"
"Yes, he failed to kill the target and then tried to betray us so my curse killed him," Star replied emotionlessly. "I briefly saw two people in the area but I couldn't discern who it was. I suspect other benders were involved since the whole place was like a battle zone."
"Don't tell me that kid has already awakened and then beat Tian?" Master Yang asked in doubt. "The old man must have sent someone to protect him so it can only mean they were already aware of him beforehand. Damn, they are so annoying."
Master Yang put down his fork as if he lost appetite and got up. "Alright, I will go visit the headquarters to ask for reinforcements. Stay behind and protect the castle for me. Don't let the prisoners escape or we will pay for that with our heads."
He didn't wait for her reply and left the table right away. Star couldn't help but turn cold at his attitude.
"Do you think I'm your slave?"
Master Yang froze at her question and turned around in confusion. "Of course you are not. What happened? You are acting weird today."
"What happened?" Star repeated as she reached out and stabbed a grape with her red nail. "I'm only working for you because you promised to find my sister. Where is she?"
"Listen..." Master Yang began but Star cut him off while picking up a metal dagger from the table.
"No! You listen. Either you tell me where she is or I'm going to walk out of this castle and find her by myself," Star called out sternly and threw the blade at him. "I'm tired of waiting!"
"Calm down!"
Master Yang shouted while extending his palm and the dagger suspended in the air right in front of him. He grabbed it and kept it in his back pocket while sighing in a deep breath.
"I know how much you care about her, which is why we did everything in our power to find her," Master Yang explained as he walked up to her with a pained gaze. "I know it's hard to accept it but we have already confirmed her case. She died ten years ago in the—"
"You are lying!" Star cried out as she grabbed her hood and jerked it back. "She is still alive! I can feel it!"
Her long back hair suddenly danced in the air despite the lack of wind in the room. She was pale with tears flowing down to her chin but it couldn't ruin her beauty. One could immediately feel guilty looking at the sadness in her eyes.
"Star, listen to me. What you are feeling is the presence of her spirit. It only happens if someone has passed away," Master Yang informed but Star didn't want to hear it.
"You are lying again!"
"I'm trying to be honest with you," Master Yang replied calmly. "Only by entering the Spirit World can you meet with your sister's spirit and if we can open it completely, you will be able to bring get back to Earth. Trust me."
"I don't trust you anymore!" Star yelled angrily and swung her arm at the table. She created a shockwave of invisible energy that blasted a heavy wooden table into the wall tens of meters away.
Bang!
It cracked into pieces on the impact and no longer resembled a table. Master Yang could only react with amazement at such power, before gulping while gazing at her. It was just a swing but if it was used on a human, they would end up much worse than the table.
"Okay! I will start the search again for you!" Master Yang called out hurriedly as he pulled out a phone and showed it to her. "I will call the headquarters and ask them to resume the search. If she is really alive, we will find her!"
Star didn't say anything besides glaring at him, making him call even faster. She didn't even listen to him as her mind went back to her conversation with the prisoner. Everything Master Yang said so far was exactly as Liu Ye's dad told her.
He would deny that Sunny was alive and only by opening the Spirit World could she get her back. According to that man, it was complete bullshit as one couldn't bring the dead back to life. What she felt was her alive sister who was taken hostage to keep the leverage on her.
'One can only awaken the Spirit Element if their heart is in peace or they experienced a traumatic experience. The latter is an easier method so after sensing your potential, they used your sister against you. That's the truth but you can continue to play their cards.'
That man's words made sense but she couldn't trust it fully until she confirmed it on her own.
"Alright, it's all settled. Did you hear everything? I was talking to my master. He will personally handle this matter," Master Yang informed as he observed her expression. "When I reach the headquarters, I will remind him personally as well."
Star only covered her head with a hook while wiping her tears. "Next time I hear you saying she is dead, I will kill you on the spot."
"Alright, I won't, but don't hold it against me when I'm trying my best to help you," Master Yang lamented.
Star only snickered and asked coldly, "How long will you be away?"
"Just three days. Hope you can take care of the castle while I'm gone," Master Yang replied with a smile.
"I expect to hear news about my sister when you come back," Star demanded sternly. "If you come back empty-handed, I will explode your brain in your sleep."
Master Yang smiled wryly and could only nod in agreement. Even though he was the man in charge, he wouldn't stand a chance against her.
She didn't wait for his reply and disappeared from the dining room. It was her Spirit Form where she could fly through the walls and eventually reached the dungeon with two locked prisoners.
It seemed like they were already waiting for her.
"So? Are you going to accept my deal?"
