Affinity:Chaoschapter 1496: unmatched boldness

Grey had read about Dragons before, but he didn't know too much about them. His father has given him insight about some things that weren't written in those books.

"Oh right, are there still Phoenixes?" He asked. This was a question he had always been curious about. Unlike Griffins and Dragons, he had never seen a real life Phoenix, and neither had he heard of anyone who owned one.

"Yes, I've seen a few. But they're very secretive and don't like showing themselves around people." Lucas nodded with a thoughtful expression, as if trying to recall the place he last saw one.

"I see. Alright then." Grey looked at Eisendrache and chuckled, "You're going to have your first meal, and luckily for you, I'm a great cook."

Eisendrache nodded, he could tell Grey wanted to prepare the meat before them, but he didn't know why. Left alone, he would dig into it like that.

Void looked at him in disdain, he couldn't believe how uncivilized Eisendrache was.

"Look here kid, we don't eat meat raw. There's no way you can make it juicy and crunchy without it getting cooked." Void explained and said, "Don't worry, since you've joined our group, I'll introduce you to all the wonders of the world."

Eisendrache didn't know much about what Void was saying, but he still nodded.

Grey had a thoughtful expression and asked his father, "Is there a way we can hide the purity of his aura, and also change his appearance?"

He wanted to bring Eisendrache out more so he could grow faster, but if Eisendrache was brought out without precautions, other Magical Beasts, and even top powerhouses would be able to sense him and would come for him.

Eisendrache was a walking treasure, and any top Family or Faction would want to acquire him, especially since he was still so young. Building a relationship with him now was the best option, once he grows bigger, he wouldn't want to be treated as a mount.

"There is a way I can hide the aura of his bloodline, but only Dragons of the inner court might possess a way to change his appearance." Lucas explained, he chuckled and added, "If this was a few years ago, I would've been able to visit them. But now… hehe."

"You could enter the inner court?" Grey asked.

He was saucing the meat as he spoke with his father. His father told him of the time he barged into the inner court and forced the Dragon Prince to apologize for disrespecting him.

Apparently, he went on an expedition while Grey was still very little, and encountered Dragons in the place. The Dragon Prince was there and it cost him the chance to get the treasure. It ran back to the inner court after sensing the gap in strength between them.

Originally, it thought it would be safe in the inner court. Given its status, there was no way anything could happen to it. However, to its shock, Lucas barged in and demanded they brought him out. After a battle broke out, the Dragon King was forced to agree to Lucas' demands when he found out its son was the one who offended Lucas.

They've had some dealings with Lucas and know he doesn't go around causing trouble. At first, its pride made it clash with Lucas, but when it saw Lucas' strength, it could only give in to his demands. That act made the relationship between the Dragons and himself a little strained. Of course, he could still contact them, but if they know he has a Dragon with such high quality bloodline with him, they might start a war with him.

Grey was left speechless by his father's story. The fact that he could confidently storm into the inner court, the territory of Dragons and force the Prince to apologize to him shows just how terrifying he is.

This was the first time Grey and his father were having such a moment together since they reunited. Since the time they reunited, he had been going to one place or the other and he hadn't really been able to spend any time having casual talks like these with his father.

They continued talking while Grey prepared the meal. In no time, the fresh aroma of well cooked meat wafted around the place as everyone, including Lucas, waited patiently for the meal to be ready.

The entire Continent was searching for a treasure that didn't exist, and Grey, the person who led them in the wrong direction, was having a great time with his father, having a father-son bond while they ate a great meal.

….

The duo spent over a week during the journey. In the space of one week, the Continent has started to calm down from its state of chaos due to the apparition looking in a certain direction.

Lucas and Grey went back to the Dawson manor and quickly found out everyone had gone in search of the opportunity to become a God.

The duo couldn't help but laugh at everyone's actions.

"This should give me a chance to gather all the top powerhouses." Lucas murmured to himself.

"What are your plans now? You're technically one of the top powerhouses in the Continent at the moment." He turned his attention to Grey.

"Well…" Grey paused, he didn't know if he should tell his father about his plans to sneak into the Gnome world or not.

"What is it?" Lucas raised a brow, he could sense whatever Grey wanted to tell him might not be what he would like to hear.

"You see, I have a way to sneak into the Gnome world without being noticed…" He told him of how he could control the Seventh Prince of the Gnome race.

Lucas looked at his son, stunned at the guts he had to even think of such a thing. Everyone was searching for a way to stop the Gnomes and Grey wanted to sneak into their world.

He burst out laughing.

Grey looked at his father, he didn't know if the laugh was a good one or not.
